Birth Story
I was 18 years old when I found out I was pregnant, I had just moved in with my boyfriend of 2 years, I had missed my period, so I decided to take a test, it came up positive. Even though I was living with him I didn't think I was ready to be a parent, I was too young. I told him, he was happy. We lived at his mom's house, and everything seemed fine, until one day I started bleeding really bad, I had to go to the ER I was about to loose my kid, at 2 months of being pregnant, I cried and cried because I didn't want to loose it, they had me in special care, I had to stop working for 2 weeks. The doctors then said I was out of danger, my baby was fine, and I was happy to hear that.
Time passed and me and Chris (baby daddy) moved out and came to live to Glenwood Springs, where we rented an apartment, where I spend the rest of my pregnancy, I got really big my weigh before I found I was pregnant was 105, by the end of my pregnancy I weighted 145 which to me it seemed a lot. At 30 weeks the doctors told me I was going to have a baby girl, I really was surprised because all along everyone told me that I was having a boy because of the shape of my stomach, I had bough lots of baby clothes because in my heart I knew it was a boy, but when the doctors confirmed the sex of my baby I cried, I was sad, but happy. I started buying baby girl clothes and everything seemed just much better.
I started having contractions when I was 35 weeks I went to the doctor and they gave me some medicine to try to stop my labor, it worked so they just send me home after, I had to be in bed rest for the next 5 weeks of my pregnancy. I enjoyed just being home and sleeping a lot before I had my baby, Chris was very exited, but at the same time really nervous about the baby arriving. We were unsure on what to name her so we decided once we saw her we would know.
I started feeling contractions a week after my expected due date, I went into the hospital on January 5th at 11 pm, I was only 2 centimeters dilated, so they had me walking around the hospital, as time passed the contractions started getting worse and more intense, the next day around 3 pm they checked me again and I was 4 centimeters dilated so the doctors decided they were going to put in some medicine to jump up my labor, the contractions started getting more bad, and when I was 8 centimeters dilated I decided to get the epidural the contractions were just too intense, though the medicine didn't really numb me like they say it would, I still felt everything. At 8:57 my baby was born, after all the pushing and intense pain, it was all worth it, because when I first saw her I instantly fell in love with her, we named her Sophia Isabel. She is the best baby, I loved her since day one, and I will always do. She is my motivation and I would do anything to see her happy, my little Sophie that I love.
